Investment Thesis
Helix Transition Capital Partners LP is a private investment fund structured as an English limited partnership. It is designed for sophisticated investors and aims to generate returns by investing in public securities (stocks, ETFs) aligned with sustainability and eco-economic themes.
The fund uses an Equity Long/Short strategy, taking long positions in companies leading in sustainability and short positions in underperformers or those accused of greenwashing.
At Helix Research Ltd., our investment philosophy is anchored in a proprietary 'eco-economics' thesis, which posits that significant financial returns are generated by aligning capital with the inevitable global shift towards a sustainable and digitally interconnected future. We believe that this structural transformation creates unique investment opportunities across various sectors.

Core Principles of Our Investment Thesis
-
The 'Aspirations Gap' Opportunity
We identify and capitalize on what we term the 'Aspirations Gap' – the increasing demand from younger generations for solutions that are both technologically advanced and environmentally responsible. This societal shift drives new consumption patterns and market dynamics, creating compelling investment pathways.
-
Sustainable Alpha through Long/Short Equity
Our strategy employs a dynamic Equity Long/Short approach. We take long positions in "eco-leaders"—companies demonstrating strong free cash flow, superior return on invested capital, and consistent progress in sustainability. Concurrently, we tactically short or swing trade "eco-laggards"—entities that are failing to adapt, dropping ESG targets, or engaging in greenwashing. This balanced approach allows us to generate alpha irrespective of market direction.
-
Uncorrelated Returns and Low Drawdowns
Our objective is to deliver high returns with low drawdowns, aiming for performance that is uncorrelated to traditional benchmarks such as the S&P 500. By investing in resilient, future-aligned companies and strategically disinvesting from those lagging in the sustainability transition, we seek to provide structural alpha and enhanced portfolio diversification.
-
Research-Led, Forward-Looking Screening
Our investment decisions are underpinned by rigorous, research-led screening that goes beyond mere ESG "box-ticking." We utilize deep analysis, incorporating qualitative and quantitative factors, to identify truly transformative companies and emergent trends.
-
AI-Powered Insights
Our methodology is further enhanced by advanced analytical tools, including a Graph Neural Network (GNN) that connects money flows, fundamentals, ESG data, sentiment, and price action. This allows for systematic "margin of safety" identification, providing robust signals and a comprehensive understanding of market dynamics in the context of eco-economics.
-
Risk-Managed Approach
We integrate a proactive risk management framework, adapting the traditional "Margin of Safety" concept to a sustainability lens (EcoMoS). This ensures comprehensive assessment of market, liquidity, and operational risks, building portfolio resilience through continuous monitoring and control.
